CrossFit Games 2021 are nearing, and many CrossFit Games 2021 participants are extremely excited. There will be women's competitions in addition to the regular men's and women's competitions. Women's competition

This morning, the women's competition began at the 2021 Crossfit Games with the swim event. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Jonne Koski won in the first event. Koski was the overall champion after she maintained her lead throughout. Tall and Eramoo Connell were second and third, each. It was the first Games for women, and the women's side hoped to complete the podium.

The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field includes nine athletes, including a 19-year-old powerhouse who won the competition in Australia last year. Kara Saunders, an Australian athlete who finished second in Australia in the team division and eleventh overall in 2020 is another contender. Andrea Nisler (who competed as a team in the 2018 division, finishing third in the United States and fifteenth overall for 2020) is another rising star. The Women's competition will feature these athletes as well as Sara Sigmundsdottir (an Icelandan competitor who won the first place medal at World Crossfit Games earlier last year).

Pegboard contest

Pegboard contest at Crossfit Games 2121 was a new concept. It was added to the Games' summer Olympic program along with double-unders and dumbbell overhead squats. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 for the men and took home his third Games victory. Although there were many ties, Toomey-Orr's dominance wasn't enough to prevent him from winning the contest.

Athletes train for the CrossFit Games by focusing on ten general physical fitness skills: cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, and agility. Competitors are tested on their grip strength and coordination in the Pegboard contest. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.


Cutting system

CrossFit Games will again use a cutting method for individual competition. While it's not as extreme or drastic as in previous Games, this year is very different. Because the competition is made up of 15 events, a cut to 30 athletes after the seventh or eighth event is very likely. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. The scoring table used during the 2019 games was almost identical to that used in 2021. It is likely that this will continue.

This year's CrossFit Games team includes 236 competitors, making it the largest ever. The first six events result in major cuts. The field is reduced down to 75 athletes. The top thirty athletes then compete in a sprint team to determine the top 10. The top 20 athletes will then compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.

Reebok's equipment

Reebok announced new CrossFit Games footwear, clothing and other equipment. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They can be used for multiple fitness goals. Reebok calls the shoe "the shoe of health," but it is more like a traditional trainer shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games. Reebok sponsored the Games for more a decade. Now, it is obvious that the company will lessen its involvement. Reebok won’t pay for the Games’ prize, but they will continue to make all athletic apparel, equipment, and gear worn by athletes. However, the company will no longer refer to itself as the "Reebok CrossFit Games" as it does now.
